Client Overview
The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is the premier government organization mandated to promote and regulate trade development across Pakistan. As part of its initiatives, TDAP oversees specialized industries such as Gems & Jewellery, ensuring compliance with government trade policies and supporting exporters and importers in adhering to global standards.
With the Gems & Jewellery sector being a high-value and sensitive trade vertical, TDAP required a digital solution to monitor, track, and regulate import activities under specific government policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The Problem We Solved
The Gems & Jewellery import/export process was constrained by:
Manual monitoring of import applications and gate pass issuance, prone to errors and inefficiencies.
Paper-based approvals and records, resulting in slow turnaround times.
Lack of transparency and tracking, which made compliance verification difficult.
No centralized digital platform, leading to fragmented processes across multiple stakeholders (importers, TDAP, customs, and regulatory authorities).
TDAP needed a secure, policy-driven browser-based solution to digitize the process end-to-end, ensuring transparency, compliance, and real-time monitoring.
Our Approach
MMC developed a tailored browser application specifically for TDAP’s Gems & Jewels vertical:
Policy-Integrated Workflow
Embedded government SOPs and trade policies directly into the application logic.
Automated verification steps for approvals and compliance.
Gate Pass Management
Designed a secure system for digital gate pass issuance for imports.
Integrated QR/Barcode validation to ensure authenticity at entry/exit points.
Monitoring & Tracking
Built dashboards for real-time monitoring of gems & jewellery imports.
Enabled tracking of each transaction from application to clearance.
User-Friendly Browser Application
Developed a responsive, role-based web application accessible to importers, TDAP officers, and regulatory bodies.
Implemented audit trails and history logs for complete transparency.
Security & Compliance
Deployed authentication and role-based access to safeguard sensitive trade data.
Ensured compliance with government IT security standards.
